Premiere Vendor Feature: Whispering Oaks Wedding Venue
If you happen to be looking for a venue to host a rustic wedding today’s premiere vendor feature has what you are looking for! The minute you drive through the gate onto the property it feels like you are leaving the rest of the world behind.
Whispering Oaks is a family owned and operated wedding venue offering total seclusion inside a 30-acre wooded lot. Their 5,000 square foot shabby-chic, cedar barn was designed with attention to detail and style. From the second story bridal suite to the elegant spiral staircase and chandeliers – every detail has been taken into consideration at this venue. The property includes a grassy outdoor ceremony site with a cedar pergola, a lighted outdoor stone patio with fire pit, and concrete pathways.
This venue has so much to offer: like ability to bring in outside vendors at no additional cost, PA and Bluetooth sound system with projector and screen, bar and ice machine, clean up service, and the groom’s suite is equipped with TV and game system. That alone should be enough to get the groom onboard! But this gorgeous venue will also allow you onsite for bridal and engagement photos by request.
Not only is this venue stunning, but its amazingly accommodating. The owner has personally attended every single wedding on the property. She will personally attend to your needs and answer all your questions making sure your wedding day is perfect. Book a tour of the property today!
As always, with our Premiere Vendors, we caught up with the owner, Jessica to get more details for you!
When and how did you start?
We purchased the land in 2016, then designed and started construction soon after. We celebrated our first wedding 2/17/17.
How did you initially get into the wedding industry?
When our oldest of 6 got married, finding a venue in our price range with what we wanted was difficult. We ended up driving to a venue two and a half hours away. After planning her wedding and working over a year on the details I famously stated, “We should build our own barn and do weddings”. We sold our family home and anything that was a luxury (boat, jet skis, etc.) down sized our home and found thirty beautiful acres in Valley View.
What is something about your business that no one else would probably know? We are truly family owned and operated. I have attended every wedding held at our venue.
What is your favorite part of owning and running your business? Least favorite? Getting to celebrate with each family and help make their day special. By the end of the night, we feel like an extended part of their family. Long hours, late nights, but again it’s all worth it.
What is your most unique quality that sets you apart from the competition?
First, I think our venue and land sets us apart. As soon as you enter the grounds, you leave the rest of the world behind. Surrounded by beautiful oaks, our winding path takes you into a wooded paradise – a destination wedding without leaving North Texas.
Second, I’m involved with each event from start to finish. From the initial tour until the last person leaves the property, I’ll be there. As I said before, I have attended each wedding to date. You become part of our family. As a client, you’re working directly with the owners, the people that care most about making your day special, and you know that we’ll be there every step of the way.
What are your goals, hopes and dreams for the future of your business?
For my husband to be able to work at the venue with me full time. For us to be able to bless others, contribute to our community, and keep our price point in line to continue to offer our beautiful venue for an incredible value.
What is the best part about the Denton Bridal Show, for your business?
Love this show! It is a great place to meet new brides, and of course network with great vendors and meet others in the industry.
Tell us about your favorite wedding so far?
Wow, that’s incredibly difficult to answer. Every wedding takes on a life of its own, filled with amazing people and great memories. I will say though that the first couple to book with us will always be special. They toured the grounds when only a clearing for the barn existed. Before the paths and bridge (we traversed the ravine), when the ceremony area was nothing but fallen timbers and rugged bush. They fell in love with the land and our vision, put their trust in us, and will always hold a special place in our hearts.
What is the best moment during a typical wedding day, in your experience?
I actually have two favorite times during a wedding. When the bride has the first look with her father/or whoever is walking her down the aisle. The other is when she starts walking down the aisle and the groom sees her for the first time. It makes me tear up each and every time. My husband would say his is when it’s just the bride and her father before they walk. The rest of the bridal party has made their way across the bridge leaving them alone in the moment with soft music drifting up through the trees. He has two daughters to make that walk with ahead of him.
If you had to own 500 lbs of one thing (and it can’t be jewels or gold) what would it be?
Food so we could help feed the homeless.
Mountains or Beach? Beach – Love our family trips to Destin
Favorite Season? The very beginning of Fall when the trees are still in full bloom and the evenings begin to cool down - makes for a great country wedding.
Dream travel destination? Bahamas
